Hudson (Cliff) will be held Sunday, November 28, 2021 at First Baptist Haughton beginning 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM with Dr Gevan Spinney officiating. Interment will follow at Haughton Cemetery, Haughton, Louisiana under the direction of Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Koty Adams, Russell Adams, Ricky Clement, Mike Copeland, Steve Himmelmann, Danny Hudson, Larry Small, and Michael Waldron, Sr.
Cliff was born July 21, 1960 in Dumas, Arkansas and entered his eternal heavenly home on November 22, 2021 at his home in Hillsboro, Missouri.
He married the former Melinda (Mindy) Powell October 1981 and celebrated 40 precious years together. Two children were born to this union, Lori Amber and Daniel Allen.
Cliff had a servant’s heart and a love for God and people that has left a legacy which will long survive him. He was a proud graduate of Haughton High School and was MVP of the 1977 Louisiana State Champion Football team. His love of sports followed him his whole life in playing for local softball teams, coaching T-Ball and Little League teams, and attending his beloved St. Louis Cardinal ballgames.
He loved to teach, and his life was an example of gentle kindness. Papa Cliff mentored countless children, teens, and adults who still consider him their “extra” father.
His unwavering trust in his Savior Jesus Christ carried him through his final battle with cancer. Cliff chose to use his passing as a testament of faith for others to show that faith in God is the most important element of a life well lived.
Cliff was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Sales Wands and his father, Corbett. L. (C.L.) Hudson, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his wife, Mindy; children Lori (David) Murphy; Danny (Kristin) Hudson; grandchildren Genevieve and Josephine Murphy; Jase and Grant Hudson; mother Nancy Pee Zeller; brothers Cletus, Chris, and Curtis Hudson and their spouses; mother-in-law Faye Powell; sister-in-law Mitzi Mathewes; several nieces, nephews and their spouses and children; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Haughton special community project fund.
