Billy Alton, beloved father, grandfather, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 4th at the age of 71. Born on January 27, 1953, Billy was a man of unwavering faith, boundless love, and a deep commitment to service. He lived a life that reflected his values, from his dedication to family to his passionate service to the Lord and his community.
Billy was a devoted husband to his wife, Alanna Alton, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Their relationship was built on love, respect, and a shared commitment to serving the Lord. He was a proud and loving father to Derek Alton, always putting his family first and offering guidance, support, and wisdom in abundance. As a grandfather, he was the epitome of joy and warmth, creating lasting memories with his grandchildren and imparting the values that had shaped him into the man he was.
His love for the Lord was at the core of his life. He was an active and dedicated member of Central Assembly of God, where he served in various capacities over the years. His faith was evident in everything he did—whether it was helping others, offering a kind word, or leading by example. He truly dedicated his life to honoring God through his actions and his heart.
Billy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, and spending time in nature. Whether waiting for that big buck to walk by or sitting in the stand with his best buddy, Jerry, he found peace and joy in the simplicity of these activities. He was also a gifted builder and gardener, finding satisfaction in creating and cultivating. His hands built many things, both in the home and in the hearts of those who loved him.
His dedication to service extended beyond his home and church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He was a friend to many, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. His kindness, humility, and sense of humor touched everyone he met. Billy’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his wife, Alanna Alton; son, Derek Alton and wife Elaina Presley; mother, Mary Lou Alton; brother, Lonnie Gene Alton and wife Shirley; grandchildren, Jonathan Alton, Hadassah Alton, Idan Alton, and David Presley; and many other beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by father, Cecil Alton; brother, Donald Alton; niece Tina Alton; and nephew Lonnie Grant Alton.
Visitation will be held at Central Assembly of God at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024. A celebration of Billy’s life will begin at 3:00 pm at the same location. A private family burial will be held at Forest Park West in Shreveport, LA.
Billy Alton leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
