Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Bossier, 2810 East Texas, Bossier City, LA 71111. A celebration of life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brad Jurkovich officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Betty was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on November 8, 1934 but grew up in East Texas. She attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston and earned a Bachelor and Masters of Arts Degree. There she met the love of her life, Bill Crow. They married in 1956 and they were blessed with three wonderful children John, Natalie and Cathy. She was a proud mother and Nana.
She retired from Bossier Parish Schools after teaching and serving as Coordinator for 35 years. She was a member of First Baptist Bossier for 60 years and served as a Sunday school teacher and choir member for over 40 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Minor and Vanila Nicklas of Lillie, Louisiana. Brother, Merrill Nicklas and wife Mary Nicklas of Monroe, Louisiana
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years Bill Crow of Benton, Louisiana. Her children John Crow and wife Lisa, Natalie Gillam and husband Ken and Cathy Gugliuzza and David Woodall. Grandchildren: Christina Gore and husband Ryan, Ashley Joyner and husband Jimmy, Chelsea Gillam and David Lindquist, Bronson Gillam and wife Heidi and Andi and Tanner Gugliuzza. Great Grandchildren: Mason Patterson, Gavin, Adelyn, Graham Gore, Kambri Gillam and a baby on the way! Also, former son-in-law, Mark Gugliuzza, along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
Pallbearers: Bronson Gillam, Tanner Gugliuzza, Mason Patterson, Ryan Gore, Jimmy Joyner, David Woodall and Steve Robinson.
Honorary Pallbearers: Leroy Faith, Sonny Deprang, Jimmy Starks, Charles Adcock, Ron Worley, Joe Whitney, Mike Collins, Jim Perdue, Dan Turner, Dean McCollister, Johnny Barnett, and Ray Raney.
Betty's priorities were faith, family and friends. Proverbs 3: 5-6 tells us to " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths".
