Bettie Akins Futch

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Services celebrating the life of Bettie Akins Futch, 72, who passed away on June 3, 2016, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Darrell Cooper, Pastor of Princeton Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Futhch, Jr.; son, John W. Vaughan; grandson, Charlie Akins Nix; parents, Charlie and Maggie Akins; siblings, Martha Sholars, Arnina Shumway, Tommy Akins, Mike Akins, Debbie Akins Ferguson, and Annie Marie Thorn; and grandmother, Betty Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Nix and husband David, and Nicole Meyer and husband Larry; her sons, Sanford “Tray” Futch, III and wife Tami, and Roy Rogers and wife Kelly; and grandchildren, Amanda Glasscock, Christopher Nix, Maggie Vaughan, Tiffany Jones, Terri Biddle, Comeial Justice, Ashley Vaughan, John Vaughan, Jr., Dustin Meyer, Woody Vaughan, Joshua Futch, and Alexis Meyer. Bettie is also survived by her three siblings, Beverly Pope, Margaret and Harry Fletcher, and Henry and Regina Akins; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Tommy Pope, Henry Akins, Jr., Gerald Monroe, Kevin Fourman, and Lee Bobbitt.
