Amy Sue Ponesmith

Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Amy Ponesmith will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Lott of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hill Crest Memorial Park immediately following the service.

Amy passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was born in Shreveport, LA on December 19, to Larry and Ruby Dykes. Mrs. Ponesmith owned and operated her own hair salon with her sister Judy, for many years. She was the most kind hearted person you would ever meet. Amy was beautiful both inside and out, and always saw the good in people. She enjoyed life, her family, and her friends. Amy had a strong believe in God, and we look forward to our reunion in heaven!

Mrs. Ponesmith was preceded in death by her sister, Judy James. She is survived by son, Kerry Phillips and wife Tami; daughter, Teresa Troquille and husband Scott; five grandchildren, Mason and Michel Troquille, Brittany and Courtney Brumfield, and Journey Phillips; special friend, Steve Swords; sister, Anna Chipman and John Lowery; brother, Jimmy Dykes; special niece, Pat Busher and husband Doe; great niece, Emily Busher; great granddaughter, Sophia Grace Flores due next month; and a host of nieces and nephews.
