We are here to celebrate the life of Wanda Faye (Evans) Burke. She was born October 22, 1942 and went home to be with the Lord December 14, 2015. She accepted Christ at an early age and is a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. Wanda was a lifelong resident of Claiborne County and she was preceded in death by her parents Asberry and Georgia (Patterson) Evans, and her brother Bernley Evans. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years Robert Patton Burke, her son Robert Alan Burke and his wife Debbie, her granddaughter Kari Nicole (Burke) Winstead and her husband Kevin, her great grandson Kevin Harley Alan Winstead, her nephew Kip Evans, niece Vickie Evans, great nephew Dale Evans, great nieces Kacee Johnson and Chelcee Evans and a host of other family and friends. Wanda retired from the Imperial Shirt Factory in LaFollette, Tennessee and then started a new career as Primary Caregiver at Candy Land Day Care in Harrogate, Tennessee where she spent 20 years and earned the title “ Mamaw Auntie”. She loved shopping, going to yard sales, and collecting antiques. All of which she continued to do even after it became difficult for her to walk and get around. She was a fighter and an inspiration to those around her. She taught us that life isn’t about waiting for the storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain. Wanda had many storms in her lifetime, and she kept right on dancing. So tonight we celebrate the life of a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and great aunt and we will keep her memory alive as we dance through all of life’s storms. Let us pray…………..
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, TN with funeral service to follow at 8 P.M. Wednesday night in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at 11 A.M. Thursday in the Red Hill Cemetery.
