David R. Smith

David R Smith age 75 of Arthur, TN went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2015 at Tri-State Rehab. Center. He was born July 31, 1940 in Harrogate, TN, the son of William Frank and Oda Belva (Earl) Smith. He was a life long resident of the community. He retired from LMU with 48 years of service. He had many jobs with the school but most notable was his 26 years in the Campus Post Office.

He is survived by his Son: William Richard “Rick” and wife Beth (Evans) Smith of Ashville, Alabama

Daughter: Debra Faye (Debbie Smith) and husband Richard Cowles of Flintville, TN

Former wife and mother of his children: Jimmie (Harmon) Smith

Brother: J.B. and wife Mabel (Rowland) Smith of Harrogate, TN

Sister: Alice Faye and husband James P. Alexander of Speedwell, TN

Grandsons: Jerry and Richard Smith

Granddaughter: Erin Smith all of Ashville, Alabama

Nephew: Brian and wife Denise Alexander

Great Nieces: Whitney and J.D. Estep IV of Speedwell, TN

Holly and husband Scott Mason of Nashville, TN

Great-Great Nieces: Izabelva and Zayalee Estep of Speedwell, TN

Sherry McCreary who he enjoyed time spent with her working out life’s problems.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 P.M. Tuesday August 4, 2015 with the funeral at 8 P.M. at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Harrogate, TN. Graveside service Wednesday August 5, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harrogate Cemetery.
