Samuel E. Raup Jr., 90, of Harrisburg passed away October 17, 2016. He retired as a Train Director from Amtrak, and was a U.S. Navy veteran from World War II. He served on PC-552 as part of the Operation Overlord D-Day invasion on June 6th, 1944.
He was the widower of Doris L. Raup. Surviving him is: daughters, Pattie Lynah and Sue Bailey (and her husband Bob); his son, David Raup; three granddaughters, Jenn Bailey, Christina Hoffer, and Amy Martin; and four great-grandchildren.
He graduated from high school as part of Operation Recognition in 2002.
He was a member of Steelton-Swatara Lodge No. 775, F&AM and the Harrisburg Consistory. He was an early volunteer for The Capital Area Greenbelt.
The viewing will be held at 10:00 am and services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, October 19th, 2016 in Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. His earthly body will be laid to rest in the Paxtang Cemetery Mausoleum.
