Maxciene E. Davis, 84, of Salisbury, MD, and most recently of Mechanicsburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Maxie, as her friends called her, was born on October 4, 1931 in Harrisburg, PA. She moved to the Eastern Shore of MD where she lived for 65 years before relocating to Mechanicsburg to be with her daughter. Maxie was the daughter of the late Viola R. (Carbaugh) Quinn and step-daughter of the late Michael Quinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Robert (“Bob”) Davis.
Maxie is survived by her son, Dr. Edward M. Lynch, of Suffolk, VA, and two daughters, Kandi Buckman, and her husband Preston, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Bobbi Livingston, and her husband Joel, of Abilene, Texas, as well as six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Maxie retired as a Corporate Credit Manager for Chesapeake Utilities. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Delmarva Evangelistic Church of Salisbury, MD. She was also a member of the Sussex, Delaware chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Maxie’s most prized possessions in life were her children. She was extremely proud of her children and her life revolved around them. She always said that her children were her “treasures here on Earth”. She was a loving and devoted mother and cherished the times that she spent with her children.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Shoop’s Cemetery, 4332 Lexington St., Colonial Park, Harrisburg, PA.
