Born on September 25, 1952, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of the late Luis A. Vazquez Sr. and Antonia (Heredia) Vazquez. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Westenberger.
Luis is survived by his two daughters, Audrey Vazquez and Annamarie Vazquez; his cherished granddaughter, Reina Gassert; his sister, Gloria Vazquez Merrick and her husband, Richard; and three brothers, George Vazquez and wife Charlotte, Jose Vazquez and wife Jean, and Ruben Vazquez and wife Ann. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
A talented mason by trade, Luis owned and operated a stone manufacturing company. He was previously the co-owner of Harry’s Tavern and was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. He was active in his community, as a former Trustee of the Progress Fire Company Home Association, member of the Sons of Italy, and the Holy Rosary Society. Luis lived his life with a passion for cooking, listening to live music, and spending his summers in Sea Isle City, NJ. His greatest joy was time spent with family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at the church, prior to the service.
