George Edward Stuart, Jr., of Country Meadows of Mechanicsburg, PA, and formerly of Hummelstown, lost his battle with Dementia on May 28, 2024. He was born on April 11, 1935, in Harrisburg, PA. He was the son of the late George E. and Josephine (Catalano) Stuart.
George was a graduate of John Harris High School, class of '54, and retired from the United States Tobacco Co., and formerly worked at Dundee Clothing and Phoenix Iron and Steel. He was a huge fan of the LA Rams and Notre Dame Football.
He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend. George was the widower of the late Jacqueline R. Stuart and preceded in death by his brother, Clair Stuart. He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Stuart (wife, Kristy) of Knoxville, TN, and David Eckley (wife, Debra), of Punta Gorda, FL, one daughter, Lisa Bivens-Devine; three grandchildren, Jennifer Bivens (partner Michael) of Mechanicsburg, Dr. Ryan Eckley (wife, Melissa), of Hockessin DE, and Kilton Stuart, of Knoxville, TN; and three great grandchildren, Declan Bivens, Kingston Bivens, and Luckson Stuart.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 3, at 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. The Funeral will be Tuesday June 4, at 11:00 AM, at Neill Funeral Home Harrisburg. A burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Following the internment a celebration of George’s life will be held at the Wharf Bar and Grill, 6852 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA.
