Elizabeth Hammacher

Elizabeth Hammacher “Liz”, 75, of Harrisburg passed away January 7 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born February 14, 1944, in Quakertown, PA, to Stephen and Sophie Radick and attended Lansdale Catholic High School. Liz enjoyed a varied work career including insurance, electronics assembly and data entry at local financial institution. She loved gardening and wild birds and was active in the Linglestown Garden Club and Harrisburg Area Garden Club until her death. Liz also liked reading, travel, had several pets and was an accomplished do-it-yourselfer.

Surviving are her loving husband, Everett X Hammacher Jr.; daughter, Lisa Billingham (Richard), grandson, Francis C March V; sister, Mary Hafler and many nieces and nephews. Liz was preceded in death by her son, Francis C March IV.

Family and friends are welcomed on Monday, January 13, at the Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA, from 12:30 to 2:00, followed by a brief memorial service. Inurnment will be at the family’s discretion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Liz’s preferred charity, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.
