Born April 1, 1929, in Morrell, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Uhazie. He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather, and a friend to all he knew.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shirley, and his brother, Paul. Surviving is his son, David (Lori); grandsons, Patrick (Gabriella) and Doug (Rachel Reiss); and sister, Dorothy Kieffer.
Don served in the Army during the Korean War and spent his entire career as a Letter Carrier. He was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church of Penbrook (Good Shepherd). He loved sports; especially Penn State, the Pirates and the Steelers. He enjoyed sharing the game of golf with his family and friends, and was a great ambassador for the good values, ethics and sportsmanship the game instilled. A great admirer of Arnold Palmer, Don was much like his idol from western PA, a kind and gentle man of integrity who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Don was a good listener. He could meet a stranger on the street and tell you their whole life story a few moments later.
