Born November 8, 1938 in Mount Carmel, PA. His parents were Mark McAndrew and Myrtle Hoy. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School. For high school and college, he attended St. Charles College, Catonsville, MD. For theological training, he attended St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia and the North American College in Rome. He holds the BA in Philosophy from St. Charles College, Catonsville, MD and the STB and STL from the Gregorian University in Rome.
Ordained to the priesthood on December 18, 1963, he served in several diocesan positions including, Assistant Chancellor, Secretary to the Tribunal, Director of Vocations, and Dean for the Lebanon Deanery. He was active on many diocesan boards and committees, and served as the Assistant Pastor in several parishes.
He served as Pastor for Sacred Heart Parish, Harrisburg, Saint Joseph Parish, Danville and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Lebanon.
Surviving are two brothers, Patrick McAndrew, of Lester and Michael McAndrew, of Norristown; sister, Sharon Zurlo, of Leola; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at Assumption of the Blessed Mary Church, 2 N 8th St., Lebanon with a Vigil Service on Monday evening, March 12, 2018 at 7:00 pm, and the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lebanon. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.
