Born December 25, 1919, in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ruth Whitmoyer Books and Samuel Harrison Books.
Claire was educated in the Steelton School System (1-12) and was a graduate from Steelton High School, Class of 1937. She worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the Dept. of Revenue until her retirement in 1980. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Steelton, PA.
Surviving are her son, John Lynn Savage of Steelton, PA; brother, Samuel J. Books of Harrisburg, PA; niece, Martina; nephew, Sammy Books; and her kitty, Smokey, III, whom she loved very much.
A special thanks to a very special care giver, Joyce Norris, who was like a daughter-in-law to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Michael Rodney Savage, who passed 1978.
