Barbara (Darlington) Foreman, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Homeland Center. Born September 7, 1937, in New Bloomfield; she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Elizabeth (Gantt) Darlington; and preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy F. Hineman; and brother, Joseph G. Darlington. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, David L. Foreman; 2 grandchildren, Scott G. and Jennifer A. Hineman, of West Chester; and a son-in-law, Glenn G. Hineman, of West Chester. Barb graduated from Perry Joint High School class of 1955 and received her Associates Degree from Elizabethtown College. She was a former secretary at both Blue Shield and Foreman & Foreman. Barb was also an associate at Hess's and Bon-Ton Department Stores. Barb was a member of the Paxton Presbyterian Church and helped at its Vacation Bible School, and at the Downtown Daily Bread. She also was a member of the Historical Society of Perry County and the Paxtang Historical Society. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader for Troop 998. Barbara loved to travel with her husband visiting all 50 states and 43 countries. She was an animal lover and enjoyed horseback riding whenever possible. She also enjoyed gardening and spent many hours in her flower garden. Barb enjoyed going out to dinner and just spending time with her family. Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Paxton Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg. Burial will be in the Paxton Presbyterian Church Graveyard. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paxton Presbyterian Church, Memorial Fund, 3500 Sharon St., Harrisburg, PA 17111 or to the Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association, P.O. Box 339, Grantville, PA 17028.
