She was born November 5, 1946, in Davie County and was the daughter of the late Javan Beech and Nellie Bowles Baity. She was a retired from Samaritan Health Care as a certified nurse’s assistant and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, shopping at flea markets, working puzzles, watching movies and loved flowers. She dedicated her life to caring for her mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Richardson and Reva Cleary.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Bracken of Mocksville and Laura (Michael) Galliher of Statesville; three brothers, Leroy (Elizabeth) Baity of Yadkinville, Cecil Baity and Thomas Wesley Baity, both of Harmony; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 5, 2013, in the Ernest Troutman Memorial Chapel at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony with the Rev. Scott Jackson and the Rev. James D. Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Living Word Ministries Cemetery in Statesville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM today (Wednesday, September 4) at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony.
