

San Benito, Texas - Roberto Vera, Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He worked as an auto-mechanic all his life. He was very much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Susana Vallejo Vera.
He is survived by his children, Alicia (Jimmy) Cortez, Bertha (Rene) de los Santos, Roberto (Olga) Vera, Jr., Amelia Alvarez, Arturo Vera, Rebecca (Richard) Galvan, Susana (David) Bottcher, Alberto (Susan) Vera, Victoria Vera, and Nelson Vera. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 30, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a service at 7:00 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. Chapel Service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas. Military honors will be conducted at the gravesite by the American Legion Post 43 Funeral Honor Guard under the command of Raul Leal.
Honored to be serving as his pallbearers will be members of his family.
