Raymond "MT Ray" Castañeda

Ray Castañeda, 76 was born in Hanford, CA on September 27, 1939. He married Rosemary Guerra in 1959. They made a life together in Santa Clara where they raised their 4 children: Connie, Danny Ray, Raymond and Denise.

They moved to Hanford in 1978 where he worked at Cal-Cot in Hanford until he retired in 1996. Ray and Rosie took care of many foster children. They adopted John in 1988. Ray was always happy to have his family and friends around him; they all meant the world to him. If anyone ever needed something to eat or a place to stay, he was always there to help. He enjoyed having BBQ’s with his family and friends, camping and riding his motorcycle.

He will now join his Wife Rosemary Castañeda, Son Danny Ray Castañeda, and his Grandson Lorenzo “Enzo” Varela in Heaven.

He is survived by his Daughters: Connie Castañeda Gatheral and Denise Castañeda, his Sons: Raymond Castañeda and John Castañeda and his Grandchildren: Virginia Brito, Raymond Vasquez, Nathan Vasquez, Jacob Vasquez, Vanessa Castañeda, Jennie Castañeda, Kathy Castañeda, and his Great- Grandchildren: Allissa, Nicholas, Aliya, Raymond, Elijah, Ulysses and Sabina. He will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be as followed; Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5th from 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. all at Koinonia Christian Fellowship Church; 12536 Hanford-Armona Rd., Hanford, CA with a Graveside Service immediately following at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Ave., Hanford, CA.
