Ray was born to Vernola Marie Jetton & Heskel Dehart on September 2, 1933 in Aplin, Arkansas. Ray passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home in Hanford, California.
Ray was a twin to Rena Fay Dehart his older sister by a few minutes. She passed away when they were young around 2 or 3. At the age of 10, he took his stepfather Ottis Stinnett's name. The family moved to California around the same time to Richmond, California where they worked in the ship yards. Later they moved to Manteca, California where he met and married Wanda Sue Fields. He later entered the U. S. Army in 1953, the same year they married and served 4 years and was a Korean War Veteran. Once out of the military, he proudly served in the U.S. Army reserves for 8 years.
He worked in the Agricultural Chemical field for Occidental Chemical and spent 3 years in Indonesia with his wife and 3 kids, then returned to the states and eventually settled in Hanford, California and retired from Occidental and went to work for his best friend; Gordon Moore, who owned Moore Ag and recently retired from there after many years.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved wife on October 15, 2011; Wanda Sue Fields Stinnett. Ray also was preceded in death by his parents; Vernola & Ottis Stinnett and his siblings; twin sister, Rena Fay Dehart and brother, Paul Stinnett.
Ray is survived by his loving children; Ronald Stinnett, Rena Thigpin and her husband Douglas and Stanley Stinnett and his wife, Vickie all of Hanford, California. He will also be remembered by his dear brother; Walter Stinnett. Ray will always be cherished by his 6 grandchildren; Ray Stinnett, Danny Stinnett, Justin Thigpin, Steven Stinnett, Andria Ransom and Nick Stinnett. Ray also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230.
