Shelly was born February 3, 1941 in San Francisco, CA.
She was lovingly raised by the late Manuel and Joaquina Dutra where she grew up with her brothers, Myron Dutra and the late Theron Dutra of Hanford.
Shelly married her sweetheart, Clyde F. Estes Jr. on January 28, 1961. They met while they were both attending The College of Sequoias in Visalia, CA.
Shelly attended Thomas McCarthy Memorial School and Hanford High School. She also graduated from the LVN Program at Hanford Adult School.
Shelly worked at Hanford Community Medical Center in the labor and delivery department and then as the Unit Clerk in the ER for 16 years.
Rachelle was a dedicated wife and mother. She also served in many capacities in the Relief Society and was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
.
Her hobbies and talents included writing, sewing, quilting, crafting, and painting, playing piano, singing and cooking. There wasn’t much that she couldn’t do.
Shelly is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clyde F. Estes Jr. and by her 5 children - Their son, Aaron Estes, Daughters - Jill Nichols and her husband Weldon, Joy Prys and her husband John, Jan Robison and her husband Chuck and Jade Ables. Grandchildren – Sarah, Derek and wife Mandi, Justin, Hunter, Corey and his wife Keva, Gavin, Drake, Duncan, Tristan, Coleman, Logan, Lauren and Levi. Great-grandchildren – Hagan, Ava, Jace, Dilynn and River. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We will all miss her dearly, but we are comforted and have peace in knowing that she is out of pain and with her Heavenly Father.
Services will be held on Monday, August 11th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2400 North 11th Avenue at 10 am. A brief graveside service will follow at Grangeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated and can be made to a memorial account in her name, Rachelle Estes, at Bank of the Sierra 427 W. Lacey Blvd. Hanford, CA 93230.
