Fabian was a hard worker. Even as a child, he worked various part time jobs to help his parents out. One of his favorite jobs when he was going to school, was working in a old theater. He liked it because he would get to watch the movies for free. He spoke of that often. He ended up quitting high school and began working full time in the fields alongside his Mother, Father and Siblings. They followed the work, working in many different states.
When working in Wasco, CA. He went to a Dance, where he met Alicia Macias. They fell in love and Married in 1964. He had his first child, Fabian S. Sanchez Jr on Sept. 25, 1965 and his second Child, Rosemary (Rosie) Sanchez on February 13, 1967 and the baby of the family, Monica Sanchez on June 19, 1974.
Fabian worked in various farm labor jobs throughout his young adult life but always regretted dropping out of high school and started going to night school so he could get his high school diploma and AA. He got out of farm labor and began working in various factories, such as, Nabisco and eventually McCormick Schillings in Salinas Ca. He studied mechanics earning him various certificates which helped him to get a Line Mechanics position at McCormick Schillings. He was a mechanic there until he retired in approx. 1993.
He then moved to Hanford to be closer to his children and quickly adapted to the hot valley climate. He started working as a used car salesman and then decided to open his own used car dealership alongside his Son Fabian S Sanchez Jr. in Lemoore Ca and worked there for a few years.
After closing the dealership, he decided he’d like to try Real Estate and work alongside his daughter, Rosie Quintero. Opening all of his sales escrows with Rosie. He worked for Century 21 Equity and then worked for Silva Realty Group. In 2000, He joined his daughter, Rosie in opening their own Brokerage, Valley Properties. He Helped many families achieve their dreams in owning their own home and making life long friends along the way. He eventually retired and enjoyed partaking in one of his many hobbies which was CB radio. He enjoyed going to church at early Sunday mass and helping out as a Collection Usher.
During his lifetime he enjoyed many hobbies such as: photography, bowling, metal detecting, gold prospecting, gold dredging, and favorite, CB radio.
Fabian is survived by his partner, Leonila Arizmendi, his Son, Fabian S Sanchez Jr. and Daughter in Law Maria Sanchez, His daughter, Rosie Sanchez Quintero and Son-in-Law, Martin Quintero and Daughter, Monica Sanchez Isais, and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Fabian Is Predeceased by his Parents, Saturnino Sanchez and Remijia Sanchez, his brother, Juan Oscar Sanchez.
Visitation is scheduled from Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at People’s Funeral Chapel, located at 501 N Douty St., Hanford CA. The funeral service is scheduled at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church located at 10435 Hanford Armona Rd., Hanford Ca 93230. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetary. Celebration of life lunch after burial at Sierra Vista Mobile home park located at 852 E. Grangeville Blvd., Hanford.
We would like to Thank, His Son in Law, Martin Quintero for welcoming Fabian into his home and lovingly helping with his care, His Grandson and Granddaughter, Christopher Quintero and Yvonne Quintero Aguilar for being his personal nurses and helping Grandpa whenever needed, Grandson-in Law, Steven Aguilar for keeping a close eye on him while in the skilled nursing facility. Staff at Hacienda for making Dad feel at home.
