July 31, 1929 – April 20, 2018
Our Mom Bobbie Louise Wells went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the age of 88. Mom was born in Corsicana, Texas on July 31, 1929 to Robert and Irene Phinney. She joined her two brothers Arnold and Ed Phinney.
In 1950, Bobbie joined the US Navy and completed her training at the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois and went on to attend a Hospital Corpsman School in San Diego where she served her two years of service with the Navy. It was during that time that Mom met our Dad Leonard E. Wells at a military dance in San Diego. They were married on September 30th, 1952. Our Mom would continue to love music and dance throughout her life, which she enjoyed up until a month ago at her home at Valley Christian.
Mom was loved by all her family and she will be greatly missed. She enjoyed family barbecues at our homes and she would always say “we have had some great times”. We were blessed to have a Mom who always accepted us for who we were and loved us no matter what!
She is survived by her two loving sons Gary & wife Tammy and Dennis & wife Lori. Five Grandchildren Trent, Barret & wife Mary, Shea & wife Brittany, Carly & fiancé Jared Cooper and Danae & fiancé Brian Lohse. Two Great-Granddaughters June Smith and Elliot Cooper. Also, Dad’s daughter our sister Dani Hays, who came into our lives 24 years ago and her (our) family Shawn & Steve Sipes and their children Savannah and Shane.
We will be having a Graveside Service for Mom on Thursday, April 26th at 10:30 am at Grangeville Cemetery; 10428 14th Ave., Armona, CA 93202.
Our family would like to thank all the nursing staff on the third floor at Adventist Health Hospital for the outstanding care they gave our Mom during her final days. And a very special thank you to all the staff at Valley Christian Home for making our Mom’s last few years of life so full of “great times”. We will miss the videos on the VCH Facebook page of Mom dancing along to the music.
Family and friends are invited to view Bobbie’s legacy at www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com and send condolences to the family.
