Shirley Virginia O'Hara

Shirley Virginia O'Hara, 70, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. She was a native of Emporia and a resident of Hampton for 45 years. Shirley worked for the Hampton City School system in food service and retired in 2004 after 37 years of service.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, George T. Spain, Jr. of Smithfield and Steven Spain of Yorktown; daughter, Kimberly Fyfe of Smithfield; grandchildren, Deanna Jones, Ashley Bohac, Kayleigh Spain, Joshua Hannah, Lacy Spain, Marie Spain, George Spain, III, Benjamen Fyfe, and Brittney Spain; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madyson, and Boston; brother, Benjamen Bishop, Jr.; and sisters, Faye Hawkins of Emporia, Ruby Harrleson of Elizabeth City, NC, Linda Woodruff of Emporia, and Dot Crute of the Eastern Shore.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 5 from 6 to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 6, at 2:00 PM at Thomas Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Drewryville, VA.
