Robert F. Adams, 86 of Williamsburg, VA, was called to heaven on Monday, 10 Jul 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Nadine E. Adams and his daughter, Debra A. Kierstead of Canaan, NH. He is survived by his sister, Marlene Meyers, of Murrells Inlet, SC; daughters: Lynne Michaud of Hampton, VA, Carol Pearson (Norman) of Canaan, NH, and his son Donald Adams (Janet) of Yorktown, VA, as well as nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Robert, or Bob as he was known to his friends, was a native of Rome, NY and lived in Williamsburg since 2010. Bob served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954 and was a veteran of the Korean War. After he left active duty he continued to serve his country as civil servant supporting multiple Air Force programs throughout the United States and in Berlin, Germany from 1954 until his retirement in 1986. He loved to play golf and watch baseball and was an active member of many communities he lived in throughout his life such as the American Legion Post 1776 of Williamsburg, Loyal Order of Moose 757 in Williamsburg, National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 685, and the Knights of Columbus, where he held several positions to include Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator, and a member of the 4th Degree Color Corps. Bob also volunteered his time as a Eucharistic Minister at St Olaf Catholic Church in Williamsburg, VA, and at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. In his younger days he was also a volunteer Firefighter in Verona, NY.
Services will be held at St Olaf Catholic Church at 104 Norge Ln, Williamsburg, VA 23188 on Friday, 28 Jul 2017. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with the funeral mass immediately following at 11:00 AM. There will be a joint celebration of life for Bob and his wife Nadine at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge at 5429 Richmond Road Williamsburg, VA at approximately 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Grace Hospice of Virginia at 263 McLaws Cir, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
