Jerry Hypes

Jerry W. Hypes, age 75, of Hampton, Virginia passed away on July 10, 2022. Jerry was predeceased in death by his father, Tommy; his Mother, Edith; and two brothers, Tommy Jr. and Roger Dale. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lisa; three sons, Greg, Jonathan, and Brenton; and one brother, Terry (Connie). Jerry was born in Pearisburg, Virginia and enlisted in the Army shortly after graduation from high school in 1966. He is a decorated combat veteran, with two tours in Vietnam where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Following his military discharge in 1969, he resided on the east coast of Virginia for most of his life. He worked in various career fields with his lifelong love being law enforcement. In addition to his abiding love for his wife and law enforcement, in the last several years he developed a profound love for Bear and Bella, and will be sorely missed by these two Siberian Huskies. A final salute and military send off will be held at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia, for Jerry on Friday, July 22, at 11:00 AM for Jerry.
