Jeanette was born August 18, 1960, in Newport News, VA to the late Iris and Stanley Hicks, Sr.
She worked as a geriatric nurse. She enjoyed caring for those who were unable to care for themselves. Most of all she enjoyed being with her daughter who was the love of her life. She loved gardening and working in the yard.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Keyonna Newby of Hampton, VA; four sisters, Ivey Samaka of Louisville, KY, Janice Griffin, Jean Hicks, Marietta Mitchell (Osenyou); two brothers, Stanley Hicks, Jr. and Winston Hicks; aunt Lola Hicks of all Hampton, VA; uncle Joseph Risper of Washington, DC and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and offer words of condolence with the family.
