She was born in 1949 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late James and Agnes Brown. She married longtime love and friend, Paul E. McClung, Sr. on October 14,1968 in Wise Virginia.
Janice graduated from Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland 1967. She continued her education at Thomas Nelson Community College, from which she received her A.A. in Nursing. Janice loved crafting and sewing dolls, her hands were rarely still. She actively kept up with and organized photo scrapbooks for the entire family. She was president of High Hopes Investment Club, during her tenure, High Hopes prospered and grew. She was one of the first female contractor sales associates for Lowes in Newport News. She worked in medical supply at Riverside Hospital.
Janice is survived by her husband, Paul E. McClung, Sr; son and wife, Paul Jr. and Sandi; daughter, Kimberly; granddaughter, Emily; her sister and husband, Rohna and Gary Bishop; her brothers, Danny, George and Ronald Brown; good friends, Sharon, Joanne and Richard.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James and Agnes Brown; brothers, Jim Jr. and Gregory.
The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home with a celebration of life service to follow at 12:00 PM in the chapel. Interment at Peninsula Memorial Gardens to be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1:30 PM.
