Jack graduated from Hampton High School in 1961. He attended one year of college in North Carolina, before joining the Army National Guard.
He worked in the lab at Amoco Refinery for 22 years. He then started his own business, SHEPPARD ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC in 1985. He worked tirelessly for 29 years to build the business from the ground up. Jack built a loyal customer base, not only through great service, quality, and customer satisfaction but also through lifelong friendships with his customers.
Jack was never one to sit idle. He was glad to volunteer his time at church. Being an avid gardener, he shared his vegetables with friends and neighbors. Most of all he loved the WASHINGTON REDSKINS!
His heart was always devoted to his family and his Savior.
He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Ruby Sheppard; his daughter Tracy McVetta and her husband Lee; and son Jeff Sheppard. His three grandchildren Chloe, Ian, and Amelia, who are fondly known as the CIA! Niece Bobbie Evans, many cousins, friends, neighbors, and customers.
