Charles D. Trescot Jr., age 95, of Hampton, Virginia was called home on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Charles was born August 10, 1926. He was a native of Henderson, NC, a member of the First Methodist Church, and a resident of Hampton for 71 years.
He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Charlie was kind and generous to others, and constantly looked out for his neighbors. He has always had a love for airplanes and flying. He began building model airplanes at early ages. He later went on to get his pilot license. Nothing could bring a smile or laughter to him faster than watching the grand/great-children play or hearing stories about their adventures!
Charlie went to NC State College of Engineering graduating in 1951. He received a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering-Aeronautical Option degree. During college, he was called to serve in the Army Air Corps from Feb 1945 until Nov 1946. Charlie went to work at NACA (NASA) in 1951 as an Aeronautical Research Scientist, and retired after 35 years of service.
He was a founding member of the Tidewater Flying Club and served as the secretary for 25 years. While owning an airplane, he continued his membership because he enjoyed working on the club airplanes and talking with the other pilots.
