A native of Lexington, Va, she had been a resident of Hampton for the past 37 years. Barbara worked as a Phlebotomist for LabCorp for 12 years before retiring in April of 2015. She was a proud member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, a chaplain at Mary Immaculate Hospital, sang in a choir, founded God's Precious Jewels, assisted with Jail Ministries in Newport News, volunteered at Nehemiah's Nook homeless shelter, Relay for Life, Usher Ministry, Parenting Ministry, and taught Sunday School.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Henderson; mother, Lucille Hobson; brother, Larry Reynolds; and stepfather, Booker Hobson. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Milton Ross; daughters, Rhinda Piggee, and Adrian Anderson; grandchildren, V'Shae Davis, Kenneth Piggee, Rachel Piggee, Anthony Anderson, and Maya Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jaeceon Davis, and Maliah Wilson; brothers, Randolph Hall, and Roger Henderson; sister, Addie Hall-White; and adopted grandson, Mark Wilson II.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, Va 23666 with a Celebration of Barbara's life to follow at 12 p.m. Burial will take place at Albert G.
