Barbara Rochelle Emerson, age 83, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. She was born in Roanoke County, Virginia and was a resident of Newport News, Virginia. Barbara was a devoted Christian and attended Faith Church of God for 39 years.
Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 55 years Edwin Wilbur Emerson, daughter Sarah Teresa and grandchildren Christopher and Barbara Brynarsky.
Left to cherish her memory is her children George (Carol), Ella, Steve, Chris (Rikki), Rochelle, Daniel, Jennifer; siblings, Ginny Fisher, Andy Williams; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
