Arthur Thomas Owens

Arthur T. Owens, 88, passed away on October 25, 2010 at his home in Gloucester. He was a native of Silvia, North Carolina and over 50 year resident of Hampton, VA. He was a disabled U.S. Army veteran and served in the Medical Corps. in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired as an Electrician from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Hampton.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Hester Louise Owens.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three sons, Mickey D. Owens, Larry V. Owens and Stephen T. Owens; daughter, Tina L. Dishman and her husband, Dale; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister and her husband, Lorraine Aubin and Leo.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held Thursday, Oct. 28 at 3 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
