Alice Bell Tharp

Alice Bell Tharp, 85, gained her "Angel Wings" on February 4, 2022 at her home in Hampton surrounded by her children.
Alice was born on April 19, 1936 in Elkins, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John and Mary Bright.
Alice married Henry C. Tharp, Sr. on June 12, 1962 in Hillsborough, Florida. Alice was a housewife and devoted her time with her children, especially taking care of her mentally challenged daughter for 54 years.
She was an "Awesome Mom" and grandma "Nanny". It was all about her family.
She loved going places with her daughter, Becky, in the "Green Mustang" she claimed was hers. She will be dearly missed by all. "We Love You Momma".
She is survived by her children, Regina Tufano (Dan) of Kentucky, Becky Tharp, Minnie Tharp, Anita Conner (Clint), and Henry Jr. all of Hampton; grandchildren, Courtney Bates, Candice Tufano, Tiffany Conner; great-grandchild, Autumn Bates; sisters, Texie Mallow (Elkins, WVa), Nellie Shreves (Beverly, WVA).
She is preceded in death by husband, Henry C. Tharp, Sr.; sisters, Dessie, Ethel, Eva, Flossie, Fannie; brothers, Burley, Robert, and Danny.
Special appreciations to the Sentara Hospice Team for their care of mom. A shout-out to Karen Baily for keeping her clean, sitting with her, and being part of our family. She dearly loved you as one of her own.
The family will receive friends 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 9 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park.
