At one year old her parents purchased a farm and ranch outside of Hamilton on the Leon River. Susan attended school in Hamilton where she was active in 4-H, stock shows, and cheerleading. Susan graduated as Valedictorian of the Hamilton High School Class of 1973.
Susan married her high school sweetheart, Ray Reinert, on June 22, 1973. She and Ray moved to Stephenville while she continued her education at Tarleton State University. She earned an accounting degree, graduating with honors. Following graduation, Susan and Ray returned to Hamilton where they made their home for the rest of her life.
Susan and Ray were blessed with two boys, Chad and Dusty. It was important to Susan that her children have the best opportunities in life and therefore she chose to be a stay at home mom while her sons were young. She later served as a substitute teacher in Hamilton for many years. Susan also worked at Hamilton Commission Company for 19 years and at Hamilton Electric Cooperative for 9 years where she was currently employed.
Susan always made her family and her children a priority in her life. She was a very supportive parent. She eagerly volunteered to help promote numerous academic meets, sporting events, 4-H contests, and stock shows. She planned family vacations each year because she felt it was important for her children to experience new places and create lasting memories.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Elmer. She is survived by her mother, Geraldine Geeslin of Hamilton; husband, Ray Reinert, of Hamilton; two sons, Chad Reinert and wife, Haley of Hamilton, Dusty Reinert and wife, Ella of Goodyear, Arizona; a brother, Wendell Geeslin of Sterling, Colorado; and one grandson, Hudson, who she deeply cherished.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Riley Funeral Home with Danny Phillips officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery in Littleville.
