David Becker Neal DDS passed from this life on May 25, 2022 at the age of 73, at his home in Evant, Texas after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Lee (Becker) Neal, father Jack Wilce Neal, nephew Keith T. Neal, and FCC Gary L. Rehm Jr. USN. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janice K. Fisher Neal, and he faithfully celebrated the anniversary of their engagement each year of their marriage. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law Nathan & Jessica Neal, granddaughter and light of his life Maggie Mae Neal, brother Henry T. Neal, sister Emily Neal, and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
David was born in San Marcos, Texas on February 21,1949. He graduated from John F. Dulles HS in Stafford, received a B.A. from Texas A&I Kingsville, and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry. He was proud to be an Eagle Scout, a member of his beloved fraternity Kappa Sigma, a long-standing member of the Lions Club International, a member of the American and Texas Dental Associations, and a Fellow of the American Academy of General Dentistry.
Some people know a little about a lot, and some know a lot about a little, but David knew a lot about a lot! Always curious, he was a life-long learner. He loved the Lord, nature, astronomy, science and living his life to the fullest. He loved music, especially listening to the Cornell Hurd Band (featuring Nathan on sax). He never met a stranger, and was always willing to carry on a conversation, in English or Spanish. He was truly a friend to all, a kind and caring soul, who marched to his own drummer.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the San Marcos City Cemetery Pavilion in San Marcos, Texas on July 2nd at 10:00 am. Please share your fond memories of David online at www.rileyfuneral.com
