Charlene was born on April 1, 1941 to Alvie and Audrey Andrews. She dedicated her life to her family. One of sixteen children, Charlene spent many years taking care of her brothers and sisters. She married the love of her life, Paul Kirkland, on September 13, 1958. One year later they welcomed their first son, Alan, and completed their family in 1962 with the birth of Mike. Charlene adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and never hesitated to let them know they were loved.
Charlene spent 40 years working for Coryell Memorial Healthcare. She retired as the director of materials management, but worked in many areas including: housekeeping, purchasing, communications, maintenance, ambulance service, building projects and acting director for other departments. Above all else, she served as a leader and mentor for the organization.
To know her was to love her. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by daughter in law, Beverly Kirkland, grandchildren: Marla and Justin Bailey, Jessica and Andrew Quezada, Ryan and Taylor Kirkland, and Justin Kirkland, seven siblings: Clara Lancaster, Corky Cathey, Mary Brumbalow, Naomi Weems, Esther Miloy, Brenda Edwards, and Kenneth Andrews and nine great grandchildren: Hanna, Jayden, Taryn, Lynlee, Jayce, Wyatt, Bryce, Ila, and Oren along with many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Audrey Andrews, husband, Paul Kirkland, and sons, Alan and Mike Kirkland and eight siblings: Eddie Andrews, Dalton Andrews, Doris Donald, Bert Andrews, Ruth Jones, Audrey Meade, Marvin Andrews and Bernard Andrews.
