Daughter of the late Charles Edward Monroe of Toronto and the late Gladys Corin (nee Davidson) of Georgetown. Loving mother of Greg Purdon (Mabel), Grandmother to Josh Purdon (Celine) and Tim Kenney (Rylee), Great-Grandmother to Yazmin, Sophia, Nate, and Gwen; sister to Valerie Wilkinson (Graham). Predeceased by brother Edward Bruce Monroe of Richmond B.C. Verna retired from Bell Canada in 1984 after 35 years of service.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Marlatt Funeral Home in Hamilton (905) 528-6303. In keeping with Verna's wishes cremation has taken place. There will be no service or visitation. A private family internment will be held.
