Beloved husband and soulmate of 37 years to Tracy Boyd (nee Collier). Loving father of Dylan Boyd and Dallas Boyd-Zagozdzon (Martin). Cherished brother of Ricky Boyd (the late Virginia) and Glenn Boyd (Marilyn) and brother-in-law of Karrie Collier and Susan Cranston (Ken). Son-in-law of Stewart Collier (Judy) and Joan Higginson. Loving uncle of Keri (Mark), Brittany (Ken), Steffany (Shawn), Montana and Raider, Shana (Dan), Trista and Kayla, Sarah (Tom), Natalie (Dan) and Beau (Sophie), as well as many great nieces and nephews. Terry will be missed by his honourary children Victoria Soo Lum, Adam and William Friday. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ann Boyd.
As an athlete and avid Habs fan, Terry had a love for hockey. This inspired both his son and daughter to pursue the sport vigorously as notable players themselves in hockey rinks throughout Ontario. Of course, with Terry as their biggest fan and favourite chauffeur.
His easy going style, sense of humour and compassion for others were hallmarks of who he was and how he lived.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. We will always treasure our time with him and the meaningful impact he had on the many lives of those whose paths he crossed. We will hold dear our memories and never forget how supportive and loving he was as a father to his children and a husband to his wife. Go in peace, knowing you loved and were loved. Until we meet again.
Thank you to all the Physician Specialists, Nurses and Technicians at the Juravinski ICU, who worked diligently and tirelessly for Terry. A special thank you to Dr. Joanna Dionne, Nurse Stacey and Social Worker Kathryn and Victoria for their care and support given to our family during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home – Fennell Chapel, 322 Fennell Avenue East, Hamilton. A celebration of Terry’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 163, 435 Limeridge Road E, Hamilton on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Online condolences can be made at www.cresmountfennellchapel.com.
