Sumintra Sandassie

Sumintra Sandassie (Gobindass) was born to Rampersad and Mangarie Gobindass on December 28, 1950. She was the 5th child in a large family of 14. At 16, she married Joe Sandassie and over the course of 19 years they produced 6 children: a son who passed at birth, Sharon, Annmarie (Wendell), Winston (predeceased), Debra (Bob, predeceased), and Samantha (Nathan). By the end of 2017, Sumintra was the extremely proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren who she doted on ceaselessly - Ian (predeceased), Kevan, Chase, Chelsea, Christian, and Julia.

Sumintra loved life. She was known for her sheer joy - for always having a smile on her face - for her generosity of spirit, kindness, and for encouraging others to be their best selves. Her faith and her family were always foremost in her life and she sought, each day, to live a life that demonstrated both her love for God and her appreciation for his creation.

Sumintra will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
