Hey Steve, well today is the day, a tremendous amount of your friends are going to drop by today too say their final goodbyes to a great and wonderful man. You're going to be greatly missed by too many to count. You're mark on this Earth was a great one but to short. You will be missed tremendously by your Bible study group boys. Will miss those great trivia questions along with your great sense of humor. But I believe for me anyway the best moments were when you and I just sat and had a beer together. You telling me  the stories about you and Jen and the wonderful life that you two shared in younger times. How amazing your daughter Jaimie is all the wonderful and amazing things she does for her family, I know you were very proud of her and how she couldn't marry a better man than Daniel, he is truly the best. Also how Tyler was just and amazing young man getting a little to tall...lol.. The funny stories you told me about Addison and Brooklyn. They were such a joy in your life. I remember some wonderful stories you shared about Shawn, now you're with him in peace. Love you forever old man

Steve and I met 9 years ago at the City Of Burlington. We Hit it off right from the start. We liked the same music, shared the same morals , basically cut from the same cloth. You never had to wonder what he was thinking. He was a stand up guy, not only for himself, but also for the ones who were too scared or wouldn't stand up for themselves. He was a man of honour and respect ! He knew more about music and sports trivia then anyone I  know ! He had seen every George Carlin  skit or comedy routine made. He was a great story teller and had a great sense of humour!  Steve ! I'm glad our paths crossed and it was an honour to know you !! I will miss our talks and all the world problems we solved ! I know you"re in a better place and free of pain . Much love and respect brother !! Save me a seat ! I'll see you on the other side !!

I only knew Steve a short time but I did enjoy every interaction with him.  He will be missed.

Steve was a great friend and neighbour. My family thought the world of Steve. That includes family from England who he introduced to the game of lacrosse, with tickets for both of our families to Brampton Excelsiors major Mann Cup  game. After the game he gifted a lacrosse stick and ball to my cousin's sports-mad son. The boy (now a schoolteacher) still has it hanging in his home office.
 He was always dropping off little gifts to my mom like chocolate or coffee left over from events at work. He was a great and generous  friend who will be missed by so many.
 When I think of him I remember Tom and Jerry Blue Jay radio broadcasts drifting over the back fence while Steve did yard work. He was a softball and hockey coach and event organizer. We need an Alderwood Hall of Fame.

Condolences to the McCarthy family, so sorry for your loss.  Steve was a dedicated employee of the City of Burlington and worked very hard in his role, where I got to know him over the years. May you rest in peace, Steve.

My interactions with Steve were few, as he was several years older than myself. Regardless, the times I shared with him were fun, upbeat, memorable and positive. I will remember him thusly. I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. He was a good friend. Steve, Glenn Zulak (R.I.P.) and I hung around together as teenagers. We had so much fun together. It doesn't feel like 50 years ago.
