Shirley Leone Fawcett

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Shirley on December 7, 2017. Predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband Donald (July 2009), infant son Albert and her sister Muriel. Forever missed by her beloved son Stephen and her daughters Donnelle Knowles (Glen) and Sharon McAuley (Scott). She is survived by her sister Babs Elley, niece Barb Horner (John) and other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by the loves of her life, her grandsons Andrew Knowles and Liam McAuley, they spent many happy times together at the family cottage on Balsam Lake and at home in Hamilton. She also enjoyed being with her friends from Sackville and the Church of the Resurrection. Shirley was a dedicated employee of the Hamilton General Hospital, out patient dept. for 23 years. She was a member of the Hamilton Squash Club and RCNA Burlington Navy Club where she was a member of the ladies auxiliary. Shirley was very active, riding her own horse, skiing, golfing and bowling. Shirley and Don also enjoyed travelling and their time spent together in Florida. Her family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, 435 Mohawk Rd. W. on Tuesday at 12noon followed by interment in Hamilton Cemetery. “To my beloved family, Good Night, God Bless”
