God answered my mother's prayers and took her back to Himself the evening of September 23, 2016, at St. Joseph's Hospital, at 91 years of age. She died suddenly, after a brief illness, after living a life full of love and caring for others. I was blessed to be with her when she died. She worked hard, and really came into her own in her retirement, taking up tap and jazz and Hawaiian dancing. She also tried her hand at the piano, oil painting, and reading braille. Born in Scotland, she lived in Australia, Europe and Canada. An independent and proud woman, she always put the needs of others first, especially mine. I will miss her so much. My mother is predeceased by her parents Patrick Tomas (Thomas) and Jane Reynolds and by her infant son Paul Francis. She is survived by her loving daughter and by many cousins in Scotland, Australia and Ireland. If desired, donations to the Good Shepherd Centre would be appreciated. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Regina Mundi Catholic Church, 631 Mohawk Rd. W. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery in Ancaster.
