We always thought highly of Bob . At our first campvention in 1979 we spied Bob, the campvention Chair, high up a hydro pole doing a repair. Later when we were approached to act as Provincial Director .we asked Bob if we could handle the  position. His reply was go for it and from then he became our mentor. He was always available for our questions and Jim always had a lot of them. Bob & Ruth arrived at our  house and said they were taking us out for dinner. The highlight of that was Bob let Jim drive his Lincoln Jim's dream car. All the while driving Bob told us Ruth was not allowed to eat or drink in the car.  These are just a couple of our favourite memories of Bob & Ruth

On behalf of the 005 Chapter we extend our sympathy to Bob's family.  We enjoyed many years of our rivalry baseball game at the OPA.  Bob was a leader for Canadian NCHA and a fried we looked forward to being with for a number of years.

Ralph and I were very sad to hear about Bob. He was a favorite of ours, including our dog, Brandy.  One NCHA campout the man next to us complained that our dog bit him.  When Bob came down, he looked us all over, and then asked the complainer what he did to Brandy to make him want to bite him.  Now this man had lined up all his beer bottles along our truck fender, and there was a lot, so you know what his condition was, and he was upset that Bob asked him that question (according to a witness, it turned out that Brandy didn't bite him, just growled, and showed his teeth because he had tried to kick Brandy).  Bob told him "I know these people and their dog, but I don't know you." That's when he became my hero.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Lloyd and I had so many great memories of are times camping together.

Bob was alwsys welcoming to lend a hand in many opportunities to read the weekly scriptures at Burkholder...He was always proud when speaking of family and friends and it showed..The smile proved that a million fold.
