Petar "Pero" Ivankovic

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Petar on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the age of 77. He will be sadly missed by Katarina, his wife of 51 years. He was dearly loved by his sons Dan (Maria), Frank (Wendy) and grandchildren Victoria, Olivia, Kalista, Veronica and Sofia. Survived by his brothers Luka (Marica), Zdenko (Ankica), Zvonko (Jelka), Slavko (Zaga) and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by family, many friends and kumovi in Canada and from Croatia, Bosnia-Hercegovina and Germany. Especially missed by kumovi Oreskovic, Majpruz, Strancaric, Petroci, Maljkovic, Balazik and DeSarno. Petar was a devoted husband, father and family man who cherished his wife, children and grandchildren more than anything. He was a dedicated employee of Wabco for over 30 years as well as the owner of Peter’s Plumbing Service. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Church.
