Mildred Betsy Zimmerman

On Wednesday January 11, in her 95th year our wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away in the comfort of her childhood home just as she wished, in the loving care of her devoted grandson Jonathan and her adoring daughters Marg Lucas (Neil), Patti Hampton (Rick), and Terri Parker (Bruce). Survived by her dear sister Marlene Gibson (Gord). Mom has finally been re-united with her beloved sons Mickey, Butchie, Tommy (Ann), precious daughter Leslie Evans (Butch) and cherished grandchildren Peter (Melanie), Georgina Herod (J.P.) Lily Zimmerman-Tekatch, beloved sisters Amy Niles and Florence Spicer and her husband Al, and treasured daughter-in-law Carol Zimmerman. Cherished grandmother of Wally Lucas, Michelle Clarke (Dan), Toby Zimmerman (Sally), Kal Clinton, Shannon Clinton, Jennifer Zimmerman, Julie Zimmerman(Tyler Tekatch), Jonathan Hampton, Christopher Hampton (Kaley Davidson), Katie Malensek (Nate), Sammie Evans Nadim (Omar), Jacqui Evans Simeone(Stephen), and Sara Parker, as well as many great and great-great grandchildren. Billie will be lovingly remembered by many dear sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews of our extended Zimmerman and Niles families as well as son-in-law Roy Lucas, daughters-in-law Marie Mason (Steve) Debbie Dalton and close friends and neighbours, Davies and Reid families.

Mom was a bowler, tap dancer, roller skater, apple pie baker, Christmas caker, jokester, casino day tripper, baby whisperer, plus Betty White and Lucille Ball all in one. Our Mom's beauty radiated to all who were greeted with her warm smile and happy-go-lucky disposition to the very end. She was everyone's best friend and brought sunshine to each and every family gathering.

She was one in a million - and lucky us - she was all ours.

Family will greet visitors at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday January 15, 11:00 - 1:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, if desired donations to Alzheimer Society of Ontario or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
