Beloved husband of the late Dorcas Giammichele (2015). Loving father of Michael (Jenny), Tony (Jennifer) and Paula (Gary) Botten. Cherished Grandpa of Matthew, Kevin and Jolene Giammichele and Owen and Justin Botten. Survived by his sister Emma in Italy and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.
Predeceased by his siblings Anthony, Giovannangelo, Ettorino, Francesco and Umberto and many close friends throughout the years.
Mario immigrated from Dogliola, Italy to Canada on February 13, 1952 and began his new journey, commencing work at CN Rail, followed by Cambridge Clothes. Then, in 1957, he opened Mario's Custom Tailor. Mario was known as the "Master Tailor" and "King of James Street North" where he ran his business for over 45 years. Soon after immigrating, he met his loving wife of over 50 years, Dorcas. They continued to build their life together in Canada, had three beautiful children and enjoyed many years in the family home on San Greco Drive in Hamilton. Their door was always open for guests and family. When he wasn't working, Mario was gardening or going for long walks, which included the Around the Bay and Road to Hope races.
We would like to thank Naida, Nick and all of the doctors and nurses at the Hamilton General and St. Peter's Hospital for all of their support and kindness.
