Margaret Merritt

It is with deepest sadness that her family announces the passing of Margaret Hutton Merritt on Friday, January 21, 2011 while at St. Peter’s-at-Chedoke, Hamilton, Ontario in her 89th year. Predeceased by her devoted husband Ellison in 2006. Loving mother to Karen Hyatt (Bev). Margaret will be missed by her sister Effie York (Murray). “Aunt Marg” will be fondly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Margaret is also survived by sisters-in-law Marjorie Hannah and Carolyn Merritt, and brother-in-law Charles Merritt. Predeceased by parents Helen and James Brown, sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Michael Gregory, brothers-in-law Keith Merritt and Frank Hannah, and sister-in-law Marjorie Merritt. Margaret served as an elder and choir member at First Pilgrim United Church for many years. Special thanks to Aunt Effie and Uncle Murray for their faithful and encouraging visits to Margaret during these past six years. St. Peter’s-at-Chedoke Aspen Terrace staff provided incredible loving care; we are truly grateful. To all who visited, you too have been a blessing.
