Passed away peacefully in the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Thursday, January 12, 2012 in his ninety-seventh year. Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy in 1994. Dear father of Joan Craven Eastlake (Gerry) and Brian (Maureen). Proud grandfather of Pamela Craven (Vitor), Paul Craven (Lesley), James Wright, Kelly Wright, and Christine Becker (Lev), and great-grandfather of Rosalia, Kate, Sam, Christopher, Luc and Coen. Survived by sister-in-law Jean Cunliffe and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be tenderly remembered by his close friend and companion Margaret Jackson. Joe was predeceased by brother Harry and sisters Nellie (Art), Annie (George), and Ivy (Jim). Also predeceased by Dorothy’s sisters Elsie (Art), Margaret, Evelyn (Dan), Phyllis (Ben), and Irene (Bob). Joe worked in the textile industry for 50 years serving in Toronto and Hamilton before retiring in Montreal. Joe is now re-united with loved ones in the presence of His Lord. Gratitude is extended to Christopher Terrace Retirement Home and Dr. Daniel and the staff at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care. According to Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2012 at MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), Hamilton.
