Brandy and Lacey:
Just a memory of how much fun and good times we always had when we were around with and John and Alma.   You cannot think or remember one with out the other one.  There certainly has been alot of changes in you lives.  Remember all the good times you shared together.

     We have lost a good friend and, to those of us of a certain age, it feels like the passing of an era.
     John  always accepted and took responsibility and it bothered him to see any around him who didn’t have a similar ethic. He was someone who worked hard and played hard, was good at teaching people, and was great to work for.  He had a terrific BS detector and one always knew where one stood with him.
    We had many good times and I and my family members looked forward to any the outings we’d planned.  We knew we would be guaranteed that there would be lots of laughs.
   We saw some Jays games at the Skydome.  We went to a lot of the restaurants in Mennonite territory - always remarking afterwards that our stomachs were too small.  He was great company during our trips to Las Vegas. He made colourful and  memorable comments about the horses’ and jockeys’ performances at the race tracks.
   There were times at work, when some poor soul would be the object of John’s good-natured ribbing, much to the delight of an audience, of course, and the walls of the room would be ringing with laughter, and I do mean ringing. 
    That’s all in the past now; as I said, the end of an era.  Thank you for the memories.
    Sadly, John experienced the pain of losing both his wife and a daughter. That’s something one doesn’t get over.

Uncle John was a character!  I have many memories of Uncle John being the jokester and pot stirrer at every family gathering.  There were always lots of laughs when Uncle John was in the room.

 An absolute honour to have known and worked with John for many  years. He was a mentor, a friend and without a doubt the funniest man I have ever met.  I truly enjoyed our time together during his retirement days in Caledonia.

Words will never express our condolence to Val and the rest of the family for the loss of “our” Uncle John.   Memories of Uncle John from when I was a kid up to visiting him in 2018 and 2019 resonated loving memories and created new memories for my wife and I dear to our hearts. When I see a picture of Uncle John, I remember the restaurant “Egg and I” where we met for breakfast every morning and he had me laughing every time.  He was my Uncle and at times he made me feel like I was talking to my father.  Rest in peace our favorite Uncle.  Love Bob & Jackie Spisak.

I send my heartfelt condolences to John’s family. I’m so very sorry that we cannot meet to share John’s great life stories.  John and I worked together in Canada and  plants in the states where we shared much laughter.  My life is better having shared part of it with him. Rest in glorious peace my friend. 

Condolences to all of John's family. I first met John at the plant in the late seventies. Never a dull moment when you were around him.  Many smiles and always a great sense of humor. May he rest in peace.
